Joel McInnes

Joel has led Gold Coast Basketball from strength to strength in the last year. Increasing the size of the largest association in Queensland and seeing overall success on and off the court.

Through the difficult COVID period, the association has thrived and focused on inclusion. Their inclusion programs has seen their Unified League grow by four teams last year, combining intellectually disabled athletes with able bodied. The association has also seen an increase in Rollerblaze wheelchair program participants, increasing from 25 to 50 athletes.

Joel navigates his role effectively liaising with local council, politicians, sponsors and members to effectively lead the largest association in the state.Joel has been with Gold Coast Basketball for 33 years, starting as a junior, through to taking on the General Manager role for the last 7 years.

Joel Mcinnes is a worthy recipient of the 2021 Administrator of the Year award.
