One of the fastest growing sports for people with a disability
Wheelchair basketball is one of the fastest growing sports for people with a disability, and continues to gather popularity among people of all abilities as both a spectator sport and recreation activity. People can participate in wheelchair basketball at a variety of levels, from grass-roots social games, junior competitions, right through to international competitions.
Basketball Queensland (BQ) partner with Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association who administrates a number of wheelchair basketball activities and programs across Queensland.
The Wheelchair Basketball Pathway
Pathways exist for athletes wishing to take their wheelchair basketball career further, with Queensland-based national level athletes eligible for the Basketball Queensland National Performance Program.
