Our mission
The Basketball Queensland Indigenous Pathways Program (BQIPP) aims to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples basketball participation by engaging, promoting, and delivering a range of culturally inclusive sport and physical activities throughout Queensland.
BQIPP is committed to promoting cultural immersion and creating a pathway that is a culturally safe environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through basketball.
What we do

Community Visits
Skills & Drills sessions for all levels of basketball within communities

Events
Inclusive events and competitions incorporating 5 vs 5 and 3 x 3 Basketball

Holiday Camps
BQIPP partner with associations to run multiple basketball camps for First Nations people throughout the year.

School Clinics
Flexible in-school and out-of-school community-based participation activations

Coaching and Refereeing
Capacity building coaching and refereeing courses designed to teach sport skills & techniques

First Nation Championships

The Basketball Queensland (BQ) First Nations Championships is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, sports, and culture, through the engagement of First Nations peoples, collaborating with other Australians to join the sporting showcase held on the Gold Coast to at North Gold Coast Basketball from Monday 16th of December to Friday 20th of December.
