Kate Stainer

Kate Stainer has made an outstanding contribution to basketball in Queensland during the 2024–25 season through her success, leadership, and commitment to athlete development. As Head Coach of the QSL Youth League Women’s team, Kate led her group to an exceptional campaign, earning the title of QSL YL Women’s Coach of the Year, recognition of her tactical knowledge, professionalism, and ability to inspire growth in her athletes. Beyond her Youth League success, Kate served as Assistant Coach for both the NBL1 Women’s program and the U16 Queensland State Team, contributing to the development of athletes across the pathway. Her adaptable coaching style combines technical precision with empathy and strong communication, fostering environments where players thrive. Known for her consistency, preparation, and inclusive leadership, Kate is a respected mentor among peers and a role model for aspiring female coaches across Queensland.
