Applications Now Open: 2026 She Hoops Leadership & Confidence Scholarship

Basketball Queensland is excited to share that applications are now open for Round 1 of the 2026 She Hoops Leadership & Confidence Scholarship — an incredible opportunity designed to empower the next generation of young female leaders in basketball.
This fully funded five-month program is open to girls aged 15 to 18 (born 2008–2011) and combines basketball development, mentorship, and personal growth. Participants will refine their on-court skills while gaining the confidence, resilience, and leadership tools to make an impact both in basketball and in their wider communities.
Program Highlights
- Mentoring with professional basketball players including Kristy Wallace, Cayla George, Abby Cubillo, Georgia Munro-Cook, Ally Wilson, and Zitina Aokuso
- A three-day camp at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra
- Community and Club coaching accreditation and an introductory officiating course
- Five online sessions with EQ Minds covering mindset, resilience, focus, confidence, and leadership
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be born between 2008–2011 (aged 15–18)
- Show a demonstrated interest in basketball beyond playing — such as coaching, officiating, or administration
Key Dates
Applications are open from 6 November to 7 December 2025, with the official program launch on 6 November at 6:00pm.
This scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for young female athletes to advance their basketball journey, build leadership capability, and gain confidence both on and off the court.
