Basketball Queensland Unveils 2026 State Championships Dates and Locations

Basketball Queensland (BQ) is excited to officially announce the dates and locations for the 2026 Basketball Queensland State Championships - the pinnacle junior representative basketball tournament series in the state.

These championships bring together the brightest young talent from across Queensland, from Far North Queensland to the Gold Coast, showcasing the future of basketball within our state.

BQ is pleased to confirm the dedicated associations hosting the 2026 State Championships. Gold Coast Basketball, Logan Basketball, Cairns Basketball, and Northside Wizards Basketball are returning as hosts in 2026, building on their experience from this past year. Southern Districts Basketball, Brisbane Basketball, and Sunshine Coast Basketball will welcome teams as new hosts in the 2026 calendar.

About BQ State Championships

The State Championships are renowned for their competitive format, with each tournament running for four to five days and segmented by age group and gender. Multiple divisions within each competition ensure strong and equitable play, allowing associations to battle it out for the title, with the ultimate prize on offer being the prestigious Vince Hickey Shield, awarded to the overall champion association based on their collective State Championship results.
