CarCoop Extends Naming Rights Partnership with Basketball Queensland Through to 2028

Basketball Queensland (BQ) is pleased to confirm the extension of its partnership with CarCoop, continuing as the official naming rights partner of the Queensland State League (QSL) and Queensland State League Youth (QSLY) competitions through to 2028.

CarCoop, one of Australia’s largest car subscription providers, has been a valued partner of BQ since joining as the QSL naming rights partner in 2025. The extended agreement will see CarCoop continue its strong presence across Queensland’s premier state league competition while expanding its engagement with the broader basketball community.

The Queensland State League has experienced significant growth in recent years, expanding from 36 teams in 2022 to 72 teams in 2026. The competition now spans from Rockhampton to the Gold Coast, showcasing hundreds of athletes across Queensland.

As part of the extended partnership, CarCoop will continue to feature prominently across the competition, including the ongoing CarCoop Player of the Week recognition program, which highlights standout individual performances across the QSL1 season. The partnership will also continue to deliver digital campaigns, community activations and engagement opportunities across Basketball Queensland’s growing network of players, volunteers and supporters.

Basketball Queensland Commercial and Marketing Manager, Lachlan Nuttall, said the extension reflects the strength of the relationship and the continued growth of the league.

"We’re really pleased to extend our partnership with CarCoop through to 2028. Over the past few seasons we’ve seen the QSL continue to grow both in size and profile, and it’s fantastic to have partners like CarCoop supporting that journey."

"Nigel has been a strong supporter of basketball across South East Queensland for a number of years, and that genuine connection to the game makes this partnership a natural fit. This extension gives us the opportunity to continue building meaningful activations around the competition, with some exciting initiatives planned for the season ahead and into the future."

CarCoop Director, Nigel Sellars said the extension reflects the company’s ongoing support for basketball in Queensland.

"We’re genuinely excited to extend our partnership with Basketball Queensland and continue supporting the QSL program, which benefits players, supporters and the broader basketball community across the state."

"Basketball is one of the fastest growing sports both in Queensland and nationally, from grassroots programs through to competitions like QSL, NBL1 and the NBL. As one of Australia’s fastest growing and largest car subscription providers, it provides a tremendous opportunity for CarCoop to engage with the basketball community while continuing to support the growth of the sport."

The CarCoop QSL season runs from March through to July each year, bringing together the state’s top representative teams and providing a key development pathway for athletes, coaches and officials across Queensland.

Basketball Queensland members will also receive exclusive access to offers through CarCoop. Members who reach out and mention they are part of the Basketball Queensland community will be able to access tailored deals and support directly from Nigel and the CarCoop team.

CarCoop provides flexible vehicle access through car subscription and rent-to-own options, helping Australians access vehicles with simple weekly payments and flexible terms.
