Basketball Queensland is calling on the next generation of Queensland basketball talent, with registrations now open for the 2026 U14 Emerging Team Trials.

The U14 Emerging Program provides an important opportunity for emerging athletes to continue their development within the Queensland pathway, with selected teams set to compete at the 2027 Southern Cross Challenge.

Who is eligible?

The trials are open to athletes who:

• Were born in 2014, making them bottom-age U14 athletes in 2026
• Are currently registered with a Basketball Queensland affiliated association
• Are registered as a representative player with a BQ-affiliated association
• Have played U14 Representative basketball in 2026

The Pathway Continues

Selected athletes will form part of the BQ Emerging Program, with the U14 Emerging teams competing at the 2027 Southern Cross Challenge and gaining further development and representative opportunities within the Queensland basketball pathway.

Please note: There are no U15 Emerging Team trials. U15 Emerging teams will be selected from the Future Development Program.
