Basketball Queensland is excited to introduce the Under 16 Boys 3PT Contest, set to take place on Day 3 (Saturday 11 April) at the Cornubia Sports Complex (Primary Venue).

Running from 12:45pm to 1:45pm, the contest will bring together some of the top young shooters from across the state for a fast-paced, head-to-head shooting competition.

The event will be hosted by Australian Basketball Shooters League (ABSL), adding a high-level shooting focus and professional delivery to the contest.

Competition Format:

The competition will feature 16 shooters competing in a knockout format:

• Round 1: 8 x head-to-head matchups (16 → 8)
• Round 2: 4 x head-to-head matchups (8 → 4)
• Round 3: 2 x head-to-head matchups (4 → 2)
• Grand Final: Final two shooters compete to be crowned Champion

Each matchup will include:

• 50-second warm-up
• 70 seconds to shoot 25 balls
• A shooter positioned at each end of the court, running simultaneously with an official timer and voice-over

Winners from each shootout will progress through to the next round, building towards an exciting Grand Final showdown.

• Players must be part of a team competing at the tournament to be eligible
• Players must be available to compete at the scheduled time

This is a great opportunity for athletes to showcase their shooting ability in a competitive and engaging format, while adding to the atmosphere of Day 3 action.
